General information:

A mandatory captains’ meeting will be held before the start of scenarios / tournament. The purpose of this meeting is to provide information to the captains of the teams attending, on organization, general regulations and important rules governing their participation in the tournament. 

A complete schedule for the rounds of play - consisting of each teams opponents and their scheduled game order will be distributed to each team upon their registration on the day of the tournament.

The tournament head ref has the ability to veto entrance to the field, if he/she deems the presence of certain individual(s) to be disruptive.

 

Entry fees:

Entry fees for each season & or event will be announced on the UMFL Facebook page and website. 

Entry fees are to be paid in advance to the UMFL before the start of play on tournament day. 

 

Communication (players) 

  • Team members can communicate with each other during a game (not with opponent players, not with refs). Radios, cell phones, cones, and any other devices to amplify sound are not allowed within the player’s area.  

  • Spectators are not allowed to call out to players from the designated spectators’ area. 

  • Players are not allowed to call out from the pit area/dead box. 

 

Protective Gear:

The goggle systems used by players and all others in a goggle-on zone must be manufactured for paintball use, in good condition and with undamaged lenses. Goggles must be worn at all times in areas where markers are allowed to be discharged, including but not limited to: 

• playing fields 

• chronograph stations 

• shooting ranges

Violation of the rules in this section will result in an official warning given to the captain of the player’s team for the first offense. For the second offense, the offending team member will be excluded from playing the tournament.

 

Paintballs: 

Paintballs must be purchased on-site from the tournament-approved paintball sponsors or vendors. All paintballs used at the event must have a material safety data sheet on file with the UMFL. Paintballs used at the UMFL events must comply with park standards and meet the leagues’ non-staining criteria.

PAINT CHECKS WILL BE MADE ON THE FIELDS BY UMFL AND PARK OFFICIALS.

 

Game End: 

A game will officially be considered over when the head referee announces “game over!” After the occurrence of any of the game-ending situations. However, players and their equipment can still be inspected even after the “game over” call until they have been instructed to leave the field. 

Game-ending situations are any one of the following: 

- elimination of all players on the game field 

- ten minutes of game time have elapsed 

When the game time has expired, the head referee will communicate to all referees “game over!” As specified.

 

 

Paint Checks:

Paint checks are performed by referees for the purpose of determining if a paintball has broken on and marked a player. 

Paint checks are performed by a referee when the referee has observed a player taking shots, or when shots are directed into an area occupied by a player that the referee cannot directly observe, when the physical location that a paintball may have broken on is not visible to the referee, or when the referee is directed to do so by another referee.

CLEAN BREAKS WILL ONLY COUNT AS HITS.

NO SPLATTER, NO BOUNCE BALLS NO MARKER HITS

 

Eliminations:

Players will be eliminated for picking up paintballs from the ground in order to shoot them.

Players that engage in unsportsmanlike conduct will be eliminated. Unsportsmanlike conduct includes, but is not limited to: 

- Failure to obey a referee’s call. 

- Deliberate avoidance of a referee in a manner that prevents a referee from chronographing a marker on the field or prevents him from making a call. 

- Deliberate avoidance of a referee in a manner that prevents a referee from performing a paint check 

- Shooting at referees. 

- Shooting a clearly eliminated player with malicious intent to injure or intimidate. 

- Excessive shooting which is defined as shooting a player more than is reasonably enough to effect elimination. 

- Requesting paint checks to distract referees from checking themselves or teammates or to use referees to locate opposition players. 

- Verbal abuse of any players, spectators or referees. 

- Physical contact with anyone during the game deemed to be intentional and hostile. Additional penalties may apply such as player being banned.

 

Score Sheet Procedures (Tournaments) : 

- The score sheet will be filled out by the Head Referee of the field and shown to both team captains at each games end. 

- If anything on the score sheet is crossed out or written over, the referees initial changes. 

- It is the responsibility of each team captain to check the score sheet. If a team captain finds a mistake on the score sheet, the correction shall be made and initialed by the head ref. 

- The captain who agrees on the score sheet will sign it. If both captains have signed it the score sheet will not be modified even if mistakes are discovered afterwards

 

LEAGUE DIVISIONS (Tournaments) :

5 VS 5 – TEAM MUST CONSIST OF A OF 5 PLAYERS AND IS ALLOWED A COACH TO ASSIST WITH RELOADS WIPE OFFS AND STRATEGIES BEFORE AND AFTER GAME ROUNDS. TEAM IS ALLOWED TO HAVE A UNREGISTERD GAME DAY SUBSTITUTION PRIOR TO GAME START IF NEEDED, ALL STATS AND POINTS WILL BE AWARDED TO REGISTERED PLAYER NOT SUB.

 

3 VS 3 - TEAM MUST CONSIST OF A MINIMUM OF 3 PLAYERS AND IS ALLOWED IS ALLOWED A COACH TO ASSIST WITH RELOADS WIPE OFFS AND STRATEGIES BEFORE AND AFTER GAME ROUNDS. TEAM IS ALLOWED TO HAVE A UNREGISTERD GAME DAY SUBSTITUTION PRIOR TO GAME START IF NEEDED, ALL STATS AND POINTS WILL BE AWARDED TO REGISTERED PLAYER NOT SUB.

 

1 ON 1 - PISTOLS ONLY- THIS IS A 1 ON 1 SQUARE UP CHALLENGE

 

ALL TEAMS ARE ALLOWED A CHOACH THAT MUST BE REGISTERD AS A NON-PLAYER COACH

 

ALL DIVISION WINNERS WILL BE BASED OFF POINTS EARNED IN GAMES PLAYED. EACH TEAM IS GURANTEE MULTIPLE GAMES (DEPENDING ON TEAMS PLAYING) TO BUILD POINTS BEFORE THE TOP TEAMS FIGHT IT OUT DAY 2 FOR THE CHAMPIONSHIP AND AWARDS.

 

LEAGUE DIVISIONS RULES (Tournaments):

  • GAME RULES: EACH GAME WILL CONSIST OF 1 10 MINUTE ROUND. THE FIRST 7 MINUTES WILL BE RESPAWN WITH LAST 3 MINUTES OF ELIMINATION. THERE WILL BE 3 FLAGS PLACED ON THE FILED, THE TEAM WITH THE MOST CONTROLLING FLAGS AT THE END WILL GET THE WIN AND WHAT EVER POINTS EARNED BASED ON FLAGS CAPTURED.  EACH TEAM IS ALLOWED 1 SHIELD PLAYER  AND 1 BOX MAG PLAYER

 

  • MARKER RULES: PLAYERS ARE ALLOWED 2 MARKERS ON THE FIELD 1 MAIN MARKER AND A SIDE ARM MARKER. MARKERS MUST CHRONOS AT 285 FPS. SHIELD PLAYER CAN ONLY PLAY WITH A PISTOL OR AN APPROVED CQC RIFLE. BOX-MAG PLAYER IS NOT ALLOWED TO REFIL ON FIELD WITH A POD BUT IS ALLOWED TO CARRY SECONDARY MAGS. ROUND BALL AND FIRSTRIKE ROUNDS ARE ALLOWED. NO GERNADES, NO SMOKE GERNADES.

3 VS 3 -

1 ON 1 - 

  • GAME RULES: EACH GAME WILL CONSIST OF 1 10 MINUTE ROUND. THE OBEJECTIVE OF THE GAME IS BEST OUT OF 5. FIRST TO 3 KILLS WINS THE MATCH, PLAYERS WILL GET APPROPRIATE POINTS FOR KILLS DURING MATCH. IF NO PLAYER GETS 3 KILLS IN 10 MINUTES WE WILL HAVE A DUEL TO CLAIM THE WINNER.

 

  • MARKER RULES: PLAYERS ARE ALLOWED 1 MARKER. MARKERS MUST CHRONOS AT 285 FPS. ROUND BALL AND FIRSTRIKE ROUNDS ARE ALLOWED. NO GERNADES, NO SMOKE GERNADES.

 

CLEAN BREAKS WILL ONLY COUNT AS HITS.
